Some of his previous roles include Senior Advisor to the Afghan Ministry of Defence on Air Matters, Director Battlefield Aviation Program, Commandant Army Aviation Training Centre and Director Aviation Capability Management. A pilot and flying instructor with qualifications on Tiger, Black Hawk and Iroquois helicopters, James is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Member of the Order of Australia.
